The floating of a vessel whose form has been made through welding, and whose painting is completed. This may involve sliding it into the water from the shipway on which it was constructed, flooding of the dock in which it was constructed or lowering the vessel into the water.
A vessel that is not in active service and may be awaiting better markets, fitting out, or work needed for classification.
