A Panamax Bulker has a size range between 50,000 and 99,999 DWT. These vessels are typically 82,000 DWT. They are mid-size for the dry bulk sector and can pass through the Panama Canal. A minority of Panamax BC are fitted with cranes for loading and discharging.
A vessel that is not in active service and may be awaiting better markets, fitting out, or work needed for classification.
