Carbon Intensity Indicator. The metric used by the IMO to measure operational efficiency. Grams of CO2 emitted per cargo carrying capacity and nautical mile for a vessel transporting goods or passengers.
A vessel that is not in active service and may be awaiting better markets, fitting out, or work needed for classification.
