Energy Efficiency Existing Index or EEXI is a measure of the energy efficiency of a vessel’s design and is applied retroactively to existing vessels. EEXI units are grams of CO2 emitted per tonne of capacity per nautical mile (g CO2/t nm).
A vessel that is not in active service and may be awaiting better markets, fitting out, or work needed for classification.
