A Handy Tanker has a size range between 29,500 and 55,000 DWT. They are broken up into MR1s and MR2s. MR2s are the larger ship type commonly more than 44,000 DWT. MR1s are smaller typically being in region of 37,000 DWT. MRs carry clean oil products.
A vessel that is not in active service and may be awaiting better markets, fitting out, or work needed for classification.
