Matthew Freeman
Chief Commercial Officer
Matthew is the Chief Commercial Officer at VV and is in charge of the analytics department. This involves oversight of the ongoing maintenance, accuracy and integrity of the company’s automated valuations and ensuring the completeness of the commercial database that underpins the model. Matthew is responsible for the handling of client valuation queries and the production of bespoke reports.
Matthew began his career at sister company Seasure Shipbroking as a competitive sale and purchase broker back in 2007 prior to the financial crash. He continues to actively broke today servicing his Greek and other clients. Over the years, Matthew’s knowledge of the sale and purchase market has acted as a commercial counterpoint to the data that VV provides.
From inception to launch in 2011, he helped develop the company’s portfolio in known shipowning markets such as Greece and Japan, assisting with both analytical work, sales work and the ongoing development of the company’s automated valuations. In 2016, automated valuations for offshore assets (Supply boats, Drill Ships and Construction vessels) were launched. 2019 saw the arrival of Vehicle Carrier valuations and in 2020, both Cruise Ships and Superyachts.
2021 to date has seen the launch of automated valuations for RoRo vessels, Liftboats and the restructuring of the existing Small Dry Cargo vessel portfolio.
Outside of shipping, Matthew’s interests include British cars, playing tennis and spending time in the countryside.
